Palm Sunday 01-04-2012 : Humility ( Rev Lau )
1. Humility is the key to victory and the key to be one that God favors.
2. Humility have different aspects. The foundation of humility is to learn the example of Christ , how ? By experiencing his faithfulness and love, and not to look too important of ourselves.
3. The second aspect of humility is to laying down ourselves and serve others.
4. The third aspect of humility is not to boast about yourself.
5. The fourth aspect of humility is to commit yourself to God. We need to commit ourselves daily because humility shows someone’s love for God.
6. David—a OT example of humility. Compared to the other kings before and after him, he is much humble. He does not boast and he often repent and commit himself to God.
7. Paul– a NT example if humility. Paul means small yet he had all what everyone desires. However he is willing to lay them down and look himself lower than the others. This is true humility– putting down yourself and serve others.
8. What benefits does humility brings ? First, humility brings eternity. Two, it allows us to be blessed. Three, it’s the key to receive reward as followers of Christ.
9. How to keep ourselves humble everyday ? We need to crucify our old self on the cross. Entrust yourself to Christ daily , let God be in charge of your life. A humble person is favored by God, are you the one ?
