Sunday Sermon: May God manifest his Glory
04-03-2012 Sunday Sermon :
May God manifest his glory (Pastor Joyce Yong)
Key Verse : Romans 9 : 23
What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—
Today, do you desire to have a glory encounter with Jesus ? Jesus desires to meet his people in his glory. There are many vessels in God's kingdom. There are valuable vessels , which are used to serve God.
There is also another type of vessel in the house of God, which is called Glory to God vessel. They are used to give glory/ to glorify him. Today, are you being called to glorify him ? In what ways can I glorify God?
Not all people have the same experience when God's glory being manifested . Why? First, we need to check our attitude ? Did you bring the right attitude- a glorify God attitude or used to serve attitude , when we were in the midst of God's glory.
Second, in what areas have you not surrendered to Christ. It may be our pride, our selfishness etc. When we do not surrender them to the Lord, they act like a veil blocking us from the glory of God, we could not enter into the glory of God. Jesus is our learning example. When he paid the price on the cross, he totally surrender to the will of God, without reservations. Today, are you like Jesus ?
After adjusting our attitude and surrendering our lives, where should we be meeting God ? God desires to meet his people personally, individually . In the Bible, we saw that God manifest his glory to his people usually on mountains ( such as Moses, and the transfiguration). Why?
One, Mountain is the highest creation among the world. There is nothing else higher than the mountains. Likewise, we need to seek God in such a way that is more progressive, than the other things we seek.
Second, Mountain is a place of serenity. We can not encounter God in a place of distraction. God wants us to encounter him , and putting our focus on him.
Today, are you ready to meet God in his glory ? May we all say Yes to Jesus, Amen!
